Inviting team members and managing access

How to invite collaborators, manage pending access requests, update membership roles, and remove team members in SCHMA Studio.

Before you begin

  • A SCHMA workspace (Free supports up to 2 members, including the owner; Pro supports up to 5 members)
  • Owner or Admin role to invite or remove members

Team collaboration in SCHMA allows developers, content editors, and project managers to work together in a shared workspace with clearly defined permission boundaries.

Workspace collaboration limits by plan

SCHMA's Free tier supports up to 2 workspace members, including the owner. This allows solo developers or small project leads to invite an additional collaborator (such as an editor, reviewer, or co-developer) at no cost. Expanding beyond 2 members (up to 5 members) requires an active Pro workspace plan (£20/mo or £200/yr UK; €25/mo or €250/yr EU; $25/mo or $250/yr Rest of world; with 2 months free on annual billing).

Sending workspace invitations

To invite a new member: open your workspace in SCHMA Studio and navigate to Settings → Team:

  1. In the Invite Team Member card, enter the colleague's email address.
  2. Select an initial role: Editor (content editing and publishing), Admin (schema modeling and developer settings), Reviewer (read-only entry inspection and commenting), or a configured custom role.
  3. Click Send Invitation.

The invitee will receive an email invitation containing a secure signup link. If they already have a SCHMA account under that email, the workspace will automatically appear in their Studio workspace switcher upon sign-in.

Managing pending access requests

When team members within your organization request access to a workspace, their requests appear under the Requests tab in Settings → Team. Workspace Owners and Admins can review the requester's email, assign a role, and click Approve or Decline.

Updating member roles

Existing member roles can be updated at any time. Under the Members list, find the team member and use the role selector dropdown to transition their permissions between Admin, Editor, and Reviewer, or assign a configured custom role. Changes take effect immediately across all active Studio sessions.

Removing team members and revoking access

To remove a collaborator: locate the user in the Members list, click the Remove Member (trash icon) button, and confirm the prompt. Removing a member immediately terminates their access to the workspace and prevents them from viewing content, schemas, or API credentials.
